We are an organization that we help individuals who are mobility impaired.

0:08
Actually we hope we help people who are mobility impaired who have all sorts of challenges and primarily we are working on a project, it’s called All-Terrain Georgia and we help the mobility or get back out into nature.

0:29
We have a fleet of all terrain vehicles, all terrain wheelchairs in our Georgia State Parks that individuals can check out, they can reserve and they can use them for free.

0:42
They go through a process of taking a safety course and safety quiz.

0:50
Once they get send in their information and we vet them and get their driver’s license or an ID, that sort of thing.

0:58
And once they’re certified, know you know how to to become safety ready, then they can use the use the chairs and people are really, really enjoying it.

1:17
There are lots of lots of programs popping up all over the nation, and a lot of people want to use our model on how to to teach people how to to use the chairs and to be safe in nature.

1:33
Our number one goal is to preserve the earth for our children and our children’s children so that it’s here so that they have a place to play too.

Like all of us, whether we’re disabled or not disabled, we just want to pursue life and you know, just as anyone else has the right to pursue, adventure and pursue the life right and ADA.

2:10
Accommodations are great and trails are great, but there’s got to be something a little feeling a little different when you’re this person that has to use this specific trail because you can’t do what everyone else is doing, right?

2:28
Because it’s not accessible.

Melanie
2:33
And that’s what we, you know, when Aimee dreamed up All-Terrain Georgia, she was in a hospital bed.

2:39
She just lost all of her limbs to necrotizing fasciitis.

2:43
And she said, you know, I I don’t want to have to go to a special park.

2:47
I don’t want to have to go to a special place.

2:49
I want to go where everybody else goes.

2:52
So and that’s the thing we we want to go where everybody else goes, right?

2:58
We don’t.

2:58
We don’t want to have to go to a special place.

3:01
We don’t want to be singled out.

3:03
We want to be able to do everything everybody else does.

3:06
So you know we we have to do special things already.

3:14
We have too many other special things that we have to do.

3:17
So, you know, but we have to enjoy nature differently than somebody else.

3:25
So that’s why we have All-Terrain Georgia, you know, it’s get in the chair and go with your family, get in the chair and go with your friend.

How did the silent auction do? it did well.

Melanie
3:41
We raised I guess about $7000.

Krystal
3:46
Wow.

3:47
Just kind of our goal which was good and we had a great night.

3:52
It was a Great Gatsby theme.

3:54
So all the ladies like my boyfriend said all the ladies took the assignment really well and dressed up and most of the men just had on tuxedos so which was you know that was of the era as well.

4:07
So but everyone looked wonderful.

4:10
We had a great time.

4:11
The food was great.

4:13
Everybody was bidding and I was just enjoying the night, so it was really, it was a lot of fun, but we’ll be having more events come up soon.

4:26
We just.

4:27
I just need to plan them.
